As a community, we value our urban forests for their beauty, the value they add to our quality of life, and the benefits to wildlife and nature in the Denver, Colorado area. Arbortec Tree Service understands how much trees and landscape plants add to the investment in your property, too. That’s why we consider tree removal one of the last options in our arsenal of tree preservation activities.
Sometimes, though, pest or diseases, storm damage, or vitality issues require that a tree be removed. Our deciduous and conifer trees can suffer from storm-related problems like major branch and stem destruction. Insects, viruses and bacterial infections weaken significant upper story and below-ground structures.
Harm can come from human intervention as well. Trenching or other soil disturbance cuts roots. Compaction from heavy equipment destroys stability and crushes complex root systems. Even dents and dings from the occasional mower or weed eater contact result in permanent, irreparable injury.

Assess Tree Removal Needs
Since removal is an action of last resort, as a property owner, you want to be assured that it is necessary. Our Certified Arborists in Denver analyze the tree’s unique situation and provide you with a plan for removal that protects the remainder of the landscape and prepares your land for whatever comes next.
Whether your tree is a young sapling or a decades-old structure requiring technical crane use, our general approach remains the same:
Assess tree condition:
What problems might the tree be experiencing? Are options other than removal, like tree pruning, a possibility? What impact will factors such as wildlife, insects or diseases, or tree lifecycle have on the removal process?
Examine removal issues:
Is the tree close to homes or other structures? How close is the tree to utility lines or underground pipes? Do roots extend under hardscape such as driveways or the street?
Develop a removal plan and budget:
What methods can be used safely and economically in the removal process? What types of mechanization such as technical crane use will be required in the removal process? How will the tree’s structure be disposed of?
Once we have the plan, we present it to you with our estimate for services. We give you options when available. And we always take maintaining the security and safety of your Denver landscape and property into consideration.

What Removal Looks Like
You’ll find videos of tree removal processes here on our website. Examples include the rope-and-saddle method, where we climb the tree and cut out the upper story either with manual or mechanized devices. In some cases, we tie off major branches to control and direct where they fall.
At the other end of extremes, very large trees may require a crane to stabilize major tree stems and remove them safely and efficiently. We also use cranes to remove large sections of the trunk. In all cases, we intend to protect the removal area by covering or cushioning surrounding landscape and hardscape.
